Maggie Edwards chosen to judge 2024 Arts in the Middle Festival

The 2024 Arts in the Middle Festival is set for June 1-2 at Hewick Plantation just outside of Urbanna. This is the 10th anniversary of the juried fine arts festival, and will include over 100 artists featuring returning favorites and newcomers. Multiple musical acts will perform throughout the day on two separate stages, and the VMFA Artmobile is also set to return. Aesthetic consultant Maggie Edwards will judge artists from around the country in various categories, including Best in Show, Photography, Jewelry and Painting.

Maggie has twenty years of experience in the creative field with work in university, fine arts non-profit, museum, and gallery settings. Maggie received her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Art History from George Washington University. She also received a Master of Arts in Art History from George Mason University, focusing on underrepresented contemporary art and artists. These experiences propelled her to envision a career in the arts outside of the establishment, supporting artists and directly engaging clients.

She founded Verve Art Source, an art and aesthetics consulting firm in 2022. The idea was born out of years of friends and family members approaching Maggie to discuss their various art needs. The business has grown to include design projects in both commercial and residential settings, something Maggie has always been passionate about. Verve focuses on opening doors to people who feel outside of, intimidated by, or just unsure of how to source quality original art and design.

Show awards will be given Saturday night at the artist reception. Be sure to mark your calendars and come stroll along the tree covered lane to see and purchase amazing art, listen to great music and enjoy tasty food and drink. Hope to see you there!
